Christmas Eve 2006 - Christmas Lights and Reindeer Poop

We had a great Sunday Service this morning, John was in the choir and sang 8 songs with them. It was a great way to bring the Christmas Spirit. Then throughout the afternoon many friends brought by plates of treats, and it was good to see how much we are loved. We had a fun dinner with Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuits that Chelsy made from scratch... and then we had a nativity story for Family Home Evening where John drew some pictures for the whole story and helped the kids get the meaning behind the season. We then bundled everyone up and went to see the Christmas Lights at the Mesa Temple.

When we got home we said good-night prayers, brushed teeth and opened one present each. Scotty got "Go Diego Go!" slippers and Mary got fluffy Barbie slippers. They both went running around the house in them.

We put a plate out with cookies for Santa, milk, and carrots for the reindeer.

We told the kids that Santa skips over messy houses and that we need to clean up - you should have seen them fly around putting things away! John tucked Scotty in bed and called out to Mary "Mary, is your room clean?" Then from Scotty's open door, we hear his little voice "Yeah, you'd better hurry, Mary, or you'll get nothing but Reindeer Poop!"

It's tough not to laugh when they get these funny ideas in their heads.

Scotty got out of bed and asked for water, and as I put him back in bed, I could hear him whispeing something like: "No reindeer poop, no reindeer poop..."

Merry Christmas!

Captain's Log: Everything is Shipp-shape

We are so excited to be able to have a place where we can post our weekly adventures! We found a place to live in Pennsylvania. It's a great little victorian style house with tall windows.
